My guild has been playing in Ssra a little lately (wtb GRC =\ )and we've been picking up the shissar weapons.. My question is do the shissar (and the same would apply to Seru) bane weapons work on ALL Shissar with the them being the ONLY way to hit Emp? Or is it a weapon designed only for Emp? I guess what I'm asking is, since Emp is nowhere on the horizon for me, is it worth attempting to put together a few shissar banes if all I plan on attempting are some Rhags? -Nah-

Nope. I played around with shissar bane on snakes, and normal weapons end up with more dps (shissar bane works out 13/20) whereas my normal weapons are usually 15/20, and have parsed at more dmg than bane on these mobs. Only "bane" weapon I use on normal ssra mobs is Wrath's Edge (drop from HP). Which is 16/20 with bane, and 19/20 if the 3 fire dmg is not resisted. hope that helps.

As for seru bane the only mob that is flagged as seru is the man himself which makes some sence because seru bane weapons kick ass when the bane is included.

The shissar bane does work with all snakes, so if the bane stats are better than the weapons you are using, then go right ahead and use them during any snake fight.

Was that sarcasm or is he serious? Nah is asking because I brought it up in guild chat. I am chasing the carrot of Blacksmithing (250) and don't want to get there, combine my anti-snake technology, and fine out it only works on 1 g*****n mob in the game.

I'm serious Dunn. Shissar bane works on all snakes, and even the skeletons in the mines. The weapons are just normally not as good as what you can find elsewhere.

You don't need blacksmithing to make shissar bane weapons. Just combine the ore and the basic weapon in the forge that is located in the basement.

In summary: Shissar bane weapons work on all snakes, and don't require any smithing skill, but the ore is a royal pain to farm, and the weapons are only 13/20 even on snakes, and pure crap anywhere else. Seru Bane only works on the Man in Black, require 250 smithing to make sheets and 180 (may have lowered this) for the final combine which results in a no-drop weapon. So basically for seru bane weapons you have to farm rare drops from all of the dungeons in Luclin, have a 250 smith, and every one of your melees has to have 180 smithing. Shissar banes only require one of the weapons from the elites and a piece of no-drop ore from the skeletons in the mines. No-fail combine in a forge. Anyway, definite no on farming seru banes if you're not going for Seru, probably no on farming Shissar banes if you're not going for the Emperor.
