|
|
|
In case you haven't heard the name, RCN is a communications company that bundles cable internet, phone and cable TV into one package for one low price. I get their mailings constantly and I have heard rumors that they're a good company and much cheaper than regular cable but I have yet to meet anyone who actually has it. Do any of you guys have any experience with this server and if so is it worth it? Pricewise it's a much better deal, for like 80 bucks a month I get all three services, whereas right now in cable internet/tv I pay upwards of 130 a month. I don't have a land line and I'm perfectly happy with that, but meh.. it can't hurt.
Any info appreciated. Thanks

We had RCN for years here and they were FINALLY bought out by PatMedia.
RCN can be decent, if you're close to the main office.
They're slow to respond to outage calls, they have questionable tech support for the internet service and billing is a joke.
Average wait time for responce was about 3 days.
I never used their phone package, we got better deals through Sprint cause I've been with them for about 20 years now *major perks for long time accounts....I still earn bonus points for my phone billl *
I'd do a bunch of checking with the BBB and Utilities Boards on complaints before ya sign up with them Nah. Hopefully they've gotten better, but I wouldn't count on it.
The company was started in Hillsborough NJ btw....the town next to us here.

I do it here too, for about 80 USD, 1024/1024, tv, ip telefon, all in one fiber optic line into the house. my connection is always above 1024 in tests, 1024 is the guarenteed. you'd have to move far to get this though =/
