Half Lie is Gordon, Doom is the Sargent right? Unreal is some unnamed prisoner. Wolfenstien is Sgt. Bluwoski or something like that, Duke in Duke Nuke Um...
What is the Stroy on Quake? I remeber something about evil creatures but I'm not sure if it's just my brain confusing it with Doom or if they are just very much alike.
IMHO Half Life and Duke Nuke Um are the best characters in fps but I could use some good points to change my mind. Halo is up there too.

quake3 was utter shit. It was IMO the worst heap of code ever conglomerated by a team of 5 year old coders.
I hope quake 4 has some kind of storyline to it. At least unreal tournament ans ut2003 had some decent play to them. You didnt have to constantly be jumping to play.
I would like to try unreal 2. Unreal original wasn't bad for its time.
Halflife 2 is one of the few games I might pay for. Just becasue I really liked the first. It was the first game since duke nukem 3d That i didnt get bored with in a couple days and use cheat codes just to get to the end.
Duke Nukem forever( the game promised to be the end all of 3d shooters ) is still 9 years in the makeing if im not mistaken or is it 10? Who knows? Either way i think the whole Duke Nukem Forever thing is a ploy to get you to buy the garbage they are putting out to tide you over while waiting for the game thats coming when its done. ( another colorful pile of vomit from 3d-realms that basicly means we suck ass, we had our time and we can't catch up )

main character in Quake 2 at least was a crashed Marine. The baddies were the Strogg (I think) which were basically a borg-like race. Mechanical / flesh parts making up mob constructs. =)
