So, is there any or isn't there, in the end? Because when it was being developed, over a year ago, I heard there were no plans to include PvP at all, and that's one of the things that originally put me off… but then, relatively recently, I hear people talking about PvP in DDO! Is that a new addition, or what?

Yeah, sort of. I think it was added in one of the modules later, but it doesn't work all that great.
