You just have to trade with the right people.
If someone you're trading with or offers to trade with you, your best off to make sure they don't have any scam accusations, look at the ratio of their 'sold' and 'canceled' status, check their posts and make sure they haven't broke any of the rules, such as spamming, posting contact info, posting the wrong forums, etc.
If all that is good, then I'd have to say it's a safe bet to trade with them.

He's wrong. Proxies are used to get to a site that is otherwise restricted by a School or Workplace firewall... They cannot access the database/server from runescape because they are used for anonymously surfing the web so they're not recognised. So yeah, he's off base a little bit on this one Still watch out for those scammers.

This post is missing due to a database problem. Database recovery is on the way. Please do not edit this entry!

Although the majority of this information is true ryan, you can never trust anyone on the internet.
You go with your gut feeling.
Always:
google any Email address the contact gives you.
google there user name.
Use our search funtion, and put there user name in the author section.
Always check the hall of shame.
Try and keep all contact on realpoor either by posting in the trade thread or keeping it to pm's.
If you do have to go and use another method of contact, always screenshot every single piece of information, get them to tell you there realpoor name, get them to tell you there paypal email address.
Suck every last bit of information you can think of out of them and screenshot it.
NEVER go off vouches, reputation or the fact they have sold 10 million accounts even on here. Completegibberish says this over and over and his quote turns out to be right more often than wrong "Everyone is a scammer, it just takes the right situation for them to show it".
If all that doesnt put you off then by all means feel free to trade, any questions or info you need pm me or one of our staff were always happy to help.
About the proxy's dont worry about it, thats something us as staff have to worry about.
