they just have like, a tiny development team (if any) pumping out new expansions every few months that they don't list the price of anywhere because its something ungodly expensive ..
i had to go digging to find the price of their last expansion and it was like 30$ .. wtf .. for some crappy expansion
and they are making money off it because anyone still playing EQ must be hooked enough to pay way too much for it

I made some interesting line charts showing AC gained per minute played (0.001 or something) given really quick data:
* A character's time /played in days
* Approx # of days left unattended in bazaar
* Current stat (such as AC)
Hoo-boy. Talk about sucking the wind out of your sails. "Okay, so... if I sit here for 17 more hours killing giants, this number will be 2703 instead of 2701. (on average)"

Ok ass hat. Expansions are generally released once every 6 months or so, with this being the most rushed one I can recall, and even this is at least what 4 or 5 months? As of I think January 12th you can buy all the previous 10 for 20 bucks. A normal Game that takes years of development costs maybe 40 dollars, but almost always 50. It's been like this for as long as I've known. I spent 50 dollars on WoW, I spent 50 dollars on guildwars, I spent 50 dollars on Battlefield 2, I spent 40 for CoD + expansion. Sure after games have been out for a year or whatever they may drop in prices, but that's differant. Get your facts straight before you make an ass of yourself, you dumb n****r. Prove me wrong, or kindly shut the f**k up.
P.S. I think they WAY rushed this expansion, and yes it looks s****y, but you are an idiot reguardless.

Actually there is a reason for this expansion to be released now. It is to keep all the lore gelled together. Mayong Mistmore has finally showed up in game, and as of last weekend been killed. This expansion is to continue that story. Mayong is a big part of DoD expansion, and will be part of next.

You stupid fuckstain.
Sure you can go out and buy all the expansions for $20 now, but what if you've been playing since time began and you've bought every expansion and payed $15 a month. That shit adds up. EQ players bought an expansion just a few months ago and now they have to buy another.
It's not easy on everyone. The reason they offer the expansions for cheap is so the can goad people into doing the shit I just mentioned. Suck them in and they will stay is the mindset.

Who cares if the zones are free? The content is predictable. Mob HP will be N*1.60, where N is the mob HP from the previous level. Apply approximately the same scale to all other NPC abilities and spells.
WOO MY AC IS 4000 NOW INSTEAD OF 2500 WOOOOO

Hey dumb ass. Re-read what I typed. I'm quite familiar with the price it costs to play EQ. But, expansions are NOT released every 2-3 months, and other games do NOT cost 30 dollars when they come out. That was the whole point of my post. Have a nice f*****g day.

Mmmm, more bank space, needing that one big time for Grizmaster.
Sounds like Freeport, the deserts of North Ro, and South Ro are getting redone which should be neat, but pointless.
Destructible Terrain, not suprised in that one since they got destructible objects in game as it is(barrels, crates, etc...)
The addition of traps sound neat, probably will end up being cool at the start and then get nerfed so bad after a couple of months that they'll suck and be worthless to use.
The Spheres of Influence item sounds interesting, and not to mention that they're giving us a new deity to fight.
Neat expansion, but as some already said, from the screenshot I seen on eq casters realm, it looks rush and the graphics look no better than the PoP era. I'm guessing they'll probably up the level cap again to 75 too, then again might be still a little early for that one.
