For those that program I have a few questions regarding the best way to go about getting something done.

Here's the program concept.

A store POS system that would link to a database with inventory pulling by a SKU which would be set for each item. Also would need a GUI interface for entering new inventory SKU's that would be simple and quick to use.

Basically I'm looking for language suggestions basically but more in the respect of how to link between the two as I think that for the system to be quick to create and easy to use I may want to use VB, but again, not sure.
