Is Eve Online server down or what? I suddenly cannot access my account or log into the game. I must say I am a beginner in the game, and I must still learn many things. This game is just brilliant, and I would be much happier if I was able to log in. However, because of some strange reason, I cannot do that. Does anybody have some information about this?

I do have some information, and you should not be worried. Eve Online is down for several hours for maintenance ever few months. The server that is running the game must be optimized regularly and checked for problems that can occur. That is why the game is temporarily down for several hours. If you experience this for further time, then you should contact the consumer support. They will then tell you what you must do. Nevertheless, this game is running perfectly so far, and there were not any major shutdowns and troubles in running the game. That only shows how good it is.
