The Journeyman's boots might be worth it if one plans on playing as long as one did eqlive. I did buy the preorder box for CoH, at the same time I bought the actual game. The powerup for speed was significantly faster than the normal one-- I don't remember the actual names of the powerup things, only that I could outrun my friend who didnt buy it. Of course the CoH preorder was only 5 bucks.
Anyone want a coh account?

I want to. I haven't decided on wether or not I want to play another MMORPG with just dial up though.
We are getting DSL but it will have s****y restrictions. It will either be something like $90 a month with a dwnload limit per month, or you will have to pay per amount downloaded in a month....not really sure if DSL is worth it up here.
Then again, my time on EQ was %90 on dial-up and it was still fun.
The only reason I would get this is for the Jboots. (I'm a sucker  )

I played EQ on a 14.4k connection for over 9 months. It's not as bad as people say. Honestly if you are in the process of getting broadband you'll have it before it's neccessary (end game). I'm like white on rice over EQ2 I just got the char creation CD and Mugaaz is looking pimp.

We should all come out and say who is going to be playing eq2 here from RP, so we can all play on the same server. Since we get along so well here, I'm sure we would all make a great team.
Seriously though, it would be nice to game with people I already sorta kinda know.

um i pre-ordered the regular 50 dollar eq2 from gamestop the other day and still got the character creator and it says on the box that i get a free pair of jboots..

Jboots are a pre-purchase award.
For collectors you get a pet dragon and some artwork for your player house.
And I'm not sure what server I'll be playing on, but most likely it will be TM again.

I don't know about EQ2 but I played my entire EQ career (Level 60 pre-luclin in the uber guild of server) on dial-up and rarely had problems.
