Check out a band called Out of Phase. They cover Pink Floyd's Animals album. The bass of the songs they do just boggles me and my system =x

You know, a Floyd tribute band may really be good... but am I the only person who has absolutely no interest in seeing one?

I love Floyd, but I don't want to see a cover band.

concerts are always fun... well except the Slipknot concert i went to 4 years ago that sucked ass, but that was expectable Razz

i went to see a Nirvana cover band about 3 years ago.. i was a little offended at first (them pretending to be nirvana, their whole lineup looked exactly like the old Nirvana) then i got over it and enjoyed the music Smile

I'm not old enough to have seen Floyd in concert, so a cover band is the next best thing!

Yea, same here. My experiences with cover bands have been pretty bad. They're usually just washed up musicians who can't write their own stuff.

I do consider myself a little lucky I guess, I got a chance to see them when I was 17 and they performed Dark Side of the Moon in it's entirety during the show.

I don't want to see a cover band of Floyd. They are awesome, but no way in hell will I see a cover band play unless the tickets are free and I have nothing else to do.

after seeing the Creed cover band skit on The Daily Show I dont think I could ever bring myself to see a cover band in concert. Closest cover band I ever liked was Apocolypticas Metallica covers.

Good for you though Tiz, I know how much you like Floyd, glad you had fun.

I can only hope you mean it's greater than today's shit music in the sense that it convinces people to kill themselves?

Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
Where have you been?
It's alright we know where you've been.
You've been in the pipeline, filling in time,
Provided with toys and 'Scouting for Boys'.
You brought a guitar to punish your ma,
And you didn't like school, and you
know you're nobody's fool,
So welcome to the machine.

Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
What did you dream?
It's alright we told you what to dream.
You dreamed of a big star,
He played a mean gituar,
He always ate in the Steak Bar.
He loved to drive in his Jaguar.
So welcome to the Machine.

Cheering for Pink Floyd is like clapping your hands because you've got a mild case of bronchitis.

"Hoorah! Great job at, uh, depressing the f**k out of me! Way to go guys!"

Pink Floyd is more like music that makes you think you're stoned or dropped a wee bit of acid or something but you're actually completely sober than depressing.

I mean, if I wanted depressing music I'd go ask a goth chick what she listens to.
