In addition to a poll for dumbest acronym, I am providing you with a scientific profiling. This highly detailed work has completed after 3 years of intense field study. In the field. Studying.
NE1: Often uses by rogues, who won't have much time to chat as they are constantly reading The Safe House for the latest tips and tricks on how to click 'backstab.' Unfortunately this acronym has gained popularity after the famous Sellszstoyoo told the #auction channel, 'n-e-one have sum ornate plat????' Of course 'n-e-one' actually takes more keystrokes to transmit than the word it is supposed to shorten, thus completing the duality of this perplexing paradigm. How can an acronym take more space than the original word? And what kind of personal sacrifice must someone make in order to share this inciteful, provocative glimpse at the english language with others?
WRU: Often used by Christians and other psychotics, this acronym is intended to interrogate someone about their location. Instead, the sender comes across as a Downs syndrome-afflicted beast who spends his free time moaning in agony.

Let's see, your auction says: "WTS Wurmslayer pst", so are you asking us to send you a tell if we want the Wurmslayer? As opposed to what? Travelling to you in Befallen where you're quadding zombies and making you an offer in /say or otherwise? Driving to your house in Malden, Missouri, tapping on your window and making an offer then? Paying for an online pop-up ad with an offer for your loot, etc.?

Not to derail the fapping that is now going on, but I have to agree that "PST" is the worst. I took a few months off from playing at one point and when I came back everyone was using that. It took me a good two weeks to figure it out since I didn't think it would actually mean what it does since that is the obvious way that I would contact you.

Really, about the only acceptable acronyms that are used these days, to me, are wtf and eta.
I'm not really sure why wtf is acceptable, to be perfectly honest, it just is.
Seriously, wtf?
It works, for some idiotic reason. ETA is common in normal vernacular so it translates well into game. Using acronyms for zones is also okay, because there is no way I feel like typing out the full zone names. Not that I'm a slow typer, or particularly lazy, but it's more of a convenience factor.
I do however refer to zones that could have duel meanings as PoTranq/PoTime and refer to the PoP Plane of Fire as PoFire, and the old world zone as PoF.

yes rasil wtf, stfu, and lol(z) are all acceptable
they are also fine for zones, classes, lfg, ect.. there has been a growing number of freakin bubbly symbols though in game lately as well.  i think those annoy me more then pst.
you know what im talking about! the *music note * 65 bard lfg *music note* type thing. those are soo cheesy, people please stop with them in you lfg advertisements, they are not cute they dont make you look smart or clever, they are retarded!
~side note~ when tanks use blocks or such for calling attack or clerics use hearts around the targets names for heal call i dont mind that so much (keeps my attention on long boring raids) but people who are using them while advertising lfg just irks me.

But i have to say im 50/50 with dislike for PST and WRU.
PST because ita like going to the groery store and the cashier says that will be $137.50 pleaseand then you ask her how much. Ok thats a bad example. It's more like putting an add in the paper with your phone number and telling people if they are interestd to call it.
As for WRU, thats just retarded.
