I’ve read a bit about EVE Online and since I’m a huge Sci-Fi fan, I found it really interesting. But the thing is that I have never played any MMOPRG before and I don’t know a lot about it. I’ve read that EVE is one of the few games that has this ‘persistent world’ feature. I would like to know what exactly does that mean? Thanks a lot!

The easiest way to describe the persistent world is that it is always available and the events happen continually. Which means that game's plots and events are developing even when some of the players are not playing – when it comes to MMORPG that means they’re not online. That also means that a character can affect the world in a degree that depends on the game. In EVE, your character is developing it’s skills and gains experience even if you’re offline.

The game world never "resets."
If a moon is mined int oblivion, it's gone...
