I just got some satisfaction out of the knowledge that Bruce REM and Pearl Jam is supporting my candidate.

Springsteen probably supports him because he doesn't want to alienate his listening audience (blue collar democrats for the most part)
Neil Young and Eddie Vedder (Who used to own) are too whacked out on drugs and alchohol to form intelligent arguments and find themselves lapsing into pseudo-socialistic rhetoric when asked to speak about politics.

Actually, Neil Young is fairly intelligent and well structured. He's not a Nobel prize winner, but he sure knows how to form good arguments to validate his point of view.
Problem is, he should concentrate with his own country first.
