Since I have patched Anarchy Online to newest version, 17.5.1 I have problems logging in! Te fact is, I cannot log in at all, as if my user wouldnt exist! All I get is the error: Please try to reenter your user name and password. And I am totally sure my password is correct I have been using the very same password for years.

Maybe there lies your problem. It is highly advised to change passwords frequently, at least once in two months. The reason is that account hacking and password theft is widespread nowadays. I suspect this happened to you, too. I doubt that patching is problem because we all patched and no one had login issues.
