PSP is coming out the 24th, anyone getting one?
I have had my import one for about 3 months and i love it. With over 20 games out at launch will be one of the biggest launchs of any system.
Its amazing what the first gen games look like for it already.

was never a fan of handhelds...
Once again
PC's > console
PC's > handhelds
I use to play all the console stuff and have all the systems but for the most part PC gaming has so much more to offer. PC gaming has way better replay value.

I go in spurts kind of, for a few months i will be a big console fan and not touch the pc at all, then i will switch for a few months. I was never a big handheld fan either, because they kind of sucked and were pretty kiddy.
With build in Wifi, and being able to DL movies to a the memory cards and stuff, there is a ton you can do with this.

I want one so bad Ash, but it doesn't fit into my budget for now. In response to the above post about PC's > *, here is an clip from my site a few weeks ago:
February 14, 2005 - 6:32pm
Pharmacy work during flu season sucks my f*****g balls. I read a post today on RealPoor filled with people arguing which was better for gaming: consoles or PC's. The fact of the matter is, consoles are built 100% for gaming and PC's aren't.
Now if you're a first person shooter fan that loves the same recycled b******t, then buy a computer and eat your heart out. I'm not here to say that PC games are a load of b******t, though most of them are. I'm well aware of the fact that every now and then, someone with a vision will make a breakthrough in PC gaming. Just this past year we saw such things as Half-Life 2, World of Warcraft, and Unreal Tournament 2004.
These games are some of the greatest creations the PC industry has ever known. If you thought I was going to mention Doom 3 then you were dead ass wrong. John Romero probably laughed his ass off at id Software for that piece of shit. Besides the fact that these were awesome games, you can see that my list is small. I could fill up an entire page of "must play" console games that I would have lived an unfinished life without.
For you PC only guys, I'm sorry. You are missing out on a world of awesomeness you cannot possibly imagine. I sometimes look at the games sitting on my shelves and can't believe that I actually played through such masterpieces. I will always maintain a powerful enough computer to play the rarities of the PC industry, but my heart lies with Nintendo, Sega, and Sony.

While the PSP may prove to be different, as far as graphics go..if I did by a portable, it would be a PSP. That being said I offer the following:
In the past, ie Gameboy, I did not want one..and I did not feel as if I was missing anything at all, as far as content goes. This is due to having played the same games on a regular console years before it was "available" on a gameboy. Does this make sense? It was like the technology was a few years behind, and never "equal" to current standards.
Now the PSP appears to promise the closest and smallest gap between console and portable. Well, who knows now...but before, s****y graphics on a 2inch screen suck.

Not stating a fact, but I heard that the battery life is absolute crap. Is it true?
also $50 for a portable game kind of sways me away from the idea of buying one. I have a hard enough time buying the console and PC games I want for $50, don't know if I want to spend more of that on something I will probably only play in my spare time at work, school, or on the road

Honestly, I think the PSP will suck in the long run. Price is too damn high and the games are tomuch. Plus it has shit games so far...

Battery life is actually pretty decent, also most games are 39.99 and probably will go cheaper 6 months after launch on new releases.

i have one of theses units displayed at the store i work at and all i have to say is OMG!!! The thing rocks the grapics are going to be like no one has ever see for a handheld. It plays movies music videos MP3 and the game line up is sweet. $249.99 seems a bit high buts its worth it.

PHP Graphics are nice. Friend has one, but, he doesn't have any games. He puts movies on it and watches them. It's pretty cool.

I don't think I'll be buying one anytime soon. One thing I laughed at was the battery life, one of the reasons I buy portables is because they can be played without being plugged into the wall. Battery life with heavy UMD use on the PSP is what, 3 hours?

I'm not interested in one for the portability. I'm interested in the PSP only games: Metal Gear Acid, Darkstalkers Chronicle, Rengoku, Tales of Eternia, etc.
