Okay, so my Final Fantasy IV isn't reading my PS2 Memory card. Do I need a PSOne mem card to save PSOne games?

One of my PS2 pet peeves :O
PS2 memory cards have infinitely more space, it'd help to be able to save ps1 games to them, wouldn't have to constantly swap ps1 cards when you filled up more than 15 or whatever slots :/

yeah, i hated that too.
I really hated those off-brand memory cards with the multiple pages. I copied like 5 cards worth of stuff onto one and it lost the data 4 months later :/
