One of our comp keeps giving me c000021a [fatal system error] and a blue screen when I start it. It won't let me go into safe mode or do a system restore ... anyone have a clue?

That's just normal windows behavior. Ignore it and, if possible, buy another "Master WindowsXP in 24hrs!" book.
The fact that you know the error code indicates Windows is easy to use.

I'm running XP on that one, I can't get past the blue screen though, it won't even let me use safe mode ... I don't have a problem with formatting, there's just files on there I need.

You will need to do this in two parts probably.
Part 1: Reinstall Windows on top of itself. Put your XP CD in, and run the setup, dont' format during the setup.
Part 2: After getting files then reformat for a more stable computer.

Format.
Take this as an opportunity to create a few partitions so that if you have to do this again, you won't lose data.
If you did have partitions, then format now and it'll still be there..the files you need.

Thats nothing. One day back when i worked for a computer manf doing tech support. We had this guy call in saying that his computer was over heating. We did everything we could imgaine to figure out what the problem was...then we opened the case. The guy had the entire case coated in aluminum foil. He called it his firewall - he thought aliens were trying to steal his information.

matter a fact, i had a lady call me once with no post/video - she wouldn't troubleshoot the problem. She said God told her not to - so i was like "why did you call if God told you not to troubleshoot". shes like "i don't know" and hung up.
