I'm thinking of upgrading my sound from onboard crap plus the 2 speakers I got with my IBM p166 back in 1996, to these below, anyone have these that can give opinions?

Card: CREATIVE Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS

Speakers: CREATIVE Inspire P7800 90 Watts 7.1 Speaker

Why do you want to use PC speakers?

Get a headphone to RCA adapter and run it to a real stereo.

Because I dont want to move my surround sound system into my bedroom, because I watch movies on my tv in the living room.

pretty simple there.

The sound card is good, not sweet but good enough for probally all your needs. Creative is a good brand for speakers.. again not sweet but still good enough for the average dude using it.

I'd say go for it. It beats the hell (+1) out of what you got now. You'll like it.

Not a bad set-up. I personally opted for the Klipsch 5.1 though.
