I am currenting using ME. I know it sucks, you know it sucks... Every one pretty much knows Windows ME is a pile of shit, so I am thinking about upgrading!
A few questions. The wide consensus is Windows XP is the best OS out there atm. Is this correct? Would you all recomend a different one? Also, if I go with XP, should I get "Home Edition".. Or "Profesional"?
In addition, is there an easy way to pirate this shit? It's expensive. Thanks

After using Windows 2000 for over 2 years, I recently switched to XP.. Results?
More crashes.
Loss of FPS/Performance in games.
Not happy.. When I have some free time I'm going to switch back.
Win2k-SP4 >>>>> WinXP-SP1 -- Faster and more reliable.
Only thing XP has going for it is the fact that you can make it look "cooler" with themes and shit.. But even that got old after a couple days.. I switched to the old Windows classic theme

win2k barely supporting dx? where did you get that from. *shrug* I can only speak from experience comparing the 2.
When I switched to XP my 3dmark2001 score went from 14,977 down to 12,608.
My FPS in RTCW:ET dropped from non-stop 90fps down to 70.. 20-30fps in places on the radar map with lots of trees and shit.. never happened before.
BF1492.. ugg.. Screen lag, lock ups, crashes galore.
Over the past 3 weeks, I've probably had 30+ crash/spontaneous reboots.
bleh. You can keep xp.. I'm going back to smoking hash
