*sigh*
Everyones post says this..

"This post is missing due to a database problem. Database recovery is on the way. Please do not edit this entry!"

In the announcement it said data was lost im sorta wondering exactly how much and do the posts that say that are they going to be gone forever because if they are im going to be verry sad!

I lost all my inbox converstaions also Sad

Anyways you guys can post your thoughts on it here and tell me what you think will be lost and what mabey will be saved and we can talk about it till hopefully they recover the entire site! Razz

Yes i know all my trades and inbox conversations i was saving for proof of sale there gone too

Oh yes i do hope they recover it today and soon because it would be verry much a shame if the whole site "basicly" was lost because of this problem

The good news is there are lots of smart staff here who i know can solve a problem like this

But what i do wonder is how did the database problem happen i wonder if it was just some bad code or something natural so to speak or if someone did this on purpose to attack and destroy the forums

I guess we will not know unless a staff member who is working on the problem would post to let us know

Do not worry about the issue right now. The staff is going to try to get everything up and running like normal. There was just a problem with the database. I don't think the Admins want any information as to what happened out yet. So sit tight Cool

All publicly released info on the situation is available here: http://www.realpoor.com/announ.php?a=1

Basically, because some may have noticed the site was running slow and going down in the last few weeks, Realpoor was being moved to a new server to accomodate increasing traffic and to make the site more reliable. There were problems in transferring the data and backup files were corrupted so alot of data was lost.

As for whether or not data will be recovered, it is still unknown and only an Admin can give information on that. My way of thinking is prepare for the worst, at least then you wont be as disappointed.

So as far as the credit system goes and the fact people had successful trades and we were using those posts as proof; basically im just sorta dissapointed if those were lost and if so are we supposed to just start all over.

Im sure i wouldn't be the only one who had some posts and stuff they were wanting to keep mabey for vouches in future trades and stuff.

Hopefully this all gets fixed and worst if i have to start all over i guess i will.

We are giving our best to restore corrupt and damaged databases. Unfortunately, it is obvious that a lot of posts will get lost. My current forecast is that 40% of posts will get restored. The most of articles have been restored today. This data mining process is very demanded and complicated. However, our programmers are doing their best to excerpt as much as possible valid data from damaged database files.

We expect support from all users and members in order to get back on the position we were before this issue. Anyway, RealPoor is still one of the biggest and most reputable MMO Trading Centers and MMORPG gaming communities online and together with members solidarity we'll achieve to be the most trusted Online MMO Trading Zone.

CUrses! and I was so sure my trade was going to be successful this time.. Not. I asked way too much for it. It's turn out to be such a pain to sell that damn WoW account..

I hear this kind of thing happen a lot, database transfers almost always seem to fail, no matter who is doing it, lol, even huge companies.. I wonder what it is that makes it so touchy =X
