Due to the fact the record industry had threatened to sue everyone who DL's music off the net, I have decided I am never going to buy a CD again. They can take the 50$ or so I spent a month on music in the past and enjoy it cause they wont see another dime from me =) I hope everyone decides to boycott them and they go broke. Having no music period would be worth it just to see those f*****g rich a******s in rags on the streets begging for change. And I still wont give them any =)

I'm done buying music too.
In all honesty, I only care about acquiring trance and techno off the hub anyways and will surive just fine without all the pop/rock etc. dreck recorded today.
And I can't believe someone here likes Mudvayne and Jewel. That's some pretty cheesy shit.

Seems to me, that if the artists are getting 8 cents a CD from their current record label... If I were an intelligent musician, I would find a way to get on the label that will give them ~5.62 a cd, even though the label may not be as big.

I haven't bought a CD since burners came out f*****g years and years ago - so I have a headstart on the boycotting just for you

Stop voting for them than damnit.
I didn't vote for the cocksuckers in office, I voted for people who'd actually make a difference.
If you vote democratic just because that's your party, you need to be shot. That's not the way our voting system is supposed to work. Don't vote by party, vote by canidate for christ's sake.
We had 30% voter turn out in the last presidental election, 30 f*****g percent. There's socalist countries out there with a higher voter turn out, it's out-right disgraceful.

Sorry man, but when I see Republicans on the ticket and shit I just think of Orrin Hatch who thinks that the gov't should be allowed to destroy our computers if we DL like 3 songs or something.
I don't usually vote straight dem, I have voted in every election since I turned 18 though. Nobody else I know in my age group votes. I tell them to vote. They say their voice doesn't matter. I just tell them that unless you talk once in a while then it sure as hell won't.
Unfortunately the problem with computers is that MOST people are clueless when it comes to it, and of these, the vast majority are the people that vote and shit..
..so knee j**k reactions when it comes to computer legislation seem to be the norm these days. Where was it a few months ago that I was seeing state legislatures approving legislation that would in essence make every kind of firewall illegal? Or something along those lines.. was aimed at internet security or something..
..or this stuff about the DL'ing of songs. That article posted above is great. There is obviously not a big problem with the recording industry in relation to the rest of the nation. So they aren't getting as much money as they used to? Well the unemployment rate is also up so people all over the country are in the same boat with that. 'Cept they can't sue other people to try to make up for it.
I hope they never regulate computers (a lot)(more so then they do now). I can easily see the government destroying the internet by making some stupid decisions.

Going back to the original topic, I'll still buy CDs from bands that I like ( which is pretty much Yes, Pink floyd, Grateful Dead and, uh, maybe a soundtrack from a movie I like) but the day an RIAA person *tries* to hack a computer I'll go help you sodomize them.
