You can buy a house in any of the towns. Most of them you just gotta speak to the baron of the town and if your rep with him is high enough he will sell you one. Some of the others though you need to do quests or find a specific person who is selling it.
I ended up buying the s****y ass shack in the imperial city for 2000g because im poor, but it works well for a place to just dump all the crap I don't need.

congrats on your communication skills... when you level you have to sleep to go up in that level, and thus finding a bed is necessary. since you generally stated "wait to level up" I assumed this is what you meant.

I didnt know this, Im playing a mage and I dont steal much (yet)
But if you can sell your stolen shit to fences then Id have to applaud the immersive realism.
Thinking back you used to be able to steal a guys entire inventory at night in Elder scrolls then the next day sell it all back to him.
This is lame and Im glad it was changed. |

Hey I bet if they put out a DDR pad where you could travel from A to B while hopping around in realtime youd never use that auto travel feature.
Just think youd level up then haul ass back to town while burning calories.
