Looked at today's AP Top 25 and couldn't help but notice how much the Big 10 owns this year. Isn't there somebody here that thinks the conference sucks??? It's the most exciting football I've seen in quite awhile.
Number of teams in the Top 25:
Big 10 - 7
Big 12 - 4
SEC - 4
Pac 10 - 3
Big East - 3
ACC - 2
A couple others with 1
I've never seen a conference with that many ranked teams, ever.

As an LSU fan, I gotta say, WTF is up with all of our SEC teams havin problems? Coaching.
Shula - BAD decision to play Croyle! That kid wasn't ready to play yet, especialy down 37-10. Georgia has a damn dangerous defense, and with that kind of lead it was just a load and blitz scenerio for them. Georgia wasn't going to take any chances on blowing their lead. Now Croyle is out for the next couple of games, possibly all season. Really going to hurt the tide. But Shula has potential.. he's a young coach, and that mistake wont cost him his job. It shouldn't... but he will learn from it hopefully.
Zook - OMG you bastard! You absolutely destroyed the integrity of Flordia's football team. It will take them 5 years to recover if a coaching change is not made immediately. You want Leach to start? Fine! Just let him run a decent offense, not one used in 8th grade scrimmages. What a god awful season of play calling. This is a dumbed down offense; I mean Grossman who was leading the leage running possibly the most complex offense performed poorly under this dumbed down offense. Ingler Martin needs to be leading this team, but do to a (possibly questionable?) contract signed with Leach, he gets the start. After LSU destroys this poor kid in Death Valley, I have a feeling we will be seeing Martin; maybe Florida can pull a seven win season. Fuck off and die zook, we want rivalries around here.
Tommy Tubberville - TT is possibly one of the worst coaches I have ever seen. His accomplishments in the past can best be described as a combination of taking over a team with a very strong foundation, and pure damn luck. His play calling stinks, his offense is a joke to stop if you stack the line, and his defense can be destroyed. Look for a true blowout when LSU plays them on the 25th of this year.
The deffensive team for Tenessee - Comon guys, I'm laying the blame of the Au'burn loss directly on the deffensive coaches backs. Haven't they watched the films? USC didn't beat them badly enuff for you? Shit, follow the tried and true, and run the correct defenses. Auburn will fall. Poor performance from a team that showed it did not belong in the Top 10.
Well... that about sums up my analysis of the problems of the SEC this year. SEC is not the powerhouse of the leage this year, but Arkansas, Georgia and LSU imo are all ranked properly in the current polls.
The strength of conferences in the future will be:
ACC #1 with Miami and Virg. Tech added
Big 12/SEC tied (Big 12 > SEC this year overall .. still think LSU is amoung top 3 teams in the country)
MAC
Big 10
hehe.. yeah i threw in MAC to p**s off Big 10 but really, I don't think Big 10 has it in the future. MAC will come a long way...
**EDIT woops big mistake. I mixed up Big 12 and Big 10. SO they are fixed now..

Big 10 = pure ownage?!?! I don't see how you can possibly say that. Considering that not a one of them has, what I would call, "The big W". They all had a rather lack luster non conference schedule and any type of competition any of them have had has beat them (please oh PLEASE dont try and tell me that Notre Dame is ANY type of competition). It is only a matter of time before the "big dog" of Ohio State gets beat. They have had alot of close games to some shit ass teams.
7 teams in the top 25? Yes that is correct... but 4 of those teams are ranked 19-25. I will say this now.... IF 3 of those 7 teams are still rated by the end of the season I will be VERY supprised.
For the record.... anyone that says that the Big 12 is not the toughest conference in college football has got to be fooling themselves.
But again... it is very early in the season, and alot has to play out before we can start waving our teams virtual phallace around.
One thing I do know is that I will be sitting with my bottle of Bud and my popcorn watching UT be OU's b***h once again. Boomer Sooner!

This weekened owned to be an LSU fan...if only Georgia woulda lost too.
And has anyone looked at the BCS recently? I think Notre Dame is still ranked in the top 10. I seriously want someone to defend it after looking at that.

Few teams in the Big 10 will have great records when the dust settles 'cause they're all beating eachother up. Over the next few weeks you've always got 2-3 contests between two ranked teams, eventually a couple of 'em are gonna drop. Doesn't mean they don't have something for the other conferences, though.
And the Big 10 is not falling. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Michigan State are all surprises this year. Michigan is somewhat of a surprise the other way, sad for me to say. I think they're gonna be a have-not in the conference this year, too many mistakes in execution. A shame, really, they have shitload of talent too.
edit: I should add that you'll need evidence to support the 'mighty' Big 12's difficult schedules. Right now I see one ranked team on Oklahoma's schedule (which is pathetic, sorry). Don't be fooled when those guys run up the score on Troy State.

Time for them to cut their high-dollar senior citizens and go into rebuilding mode I guess. Too bad, I thought they had one more run at the SB in them.
Thank god the Niners beat Detroit yesterday. That would have made me cry IRL.
