Does anyone have contact information for a video game distributor for all of the current systems?
I am basically looking for somewhere I can pick up games and systems in bulk for a bit less (doesn't need to be THAT much less, but the more the better) than retail to sell at retail prices.
Somewhere reliable of course.
Thanks for any information

I can hook you up with my cousin Vinnie, he can get you a great discount on video games that "fell off the truck".

live near northern CA?
I can get you 10 percent off new, 20 percent off used.
No checks though, and credit cards need to be in person.

Unfortunately I live in UT Okami, and a CC would be the primary payment I"m sure...
More than anything I'm trying to get information at this point and setup the account type details later.

Why would you want to get them at slightly less than retail. Retail markups are more than just slight.

I doubt there is a good path into selling PS2/Xbox/DC games as a small business, the Retail prices are controlled by Sony/MS/Nintendo.

I don't know why anyone would want to sell games, they aren't marked up all that much. The real money is found in selling accessories.

Just as a reference, here are Compusa's average markups:
XBox - $4-$7
PS2 - $3-$8
NGC - $1-$8
When we run ads, we generally take the margin hit on games and hope to make it up in accessories. The prices you guys dream about finding online I get everyday on crap like blank cds, cables, and mousepads with my discount.
I've also worked for Best Buy and Computer City, and it was the same scenario. Media like movies, music, and video games are generally just used to generate traffic. Once you're in, we try to sell ya services and accessories.... both of which are almost pure profit. We'll make a few hundred on expensive items too like laptops, projectors, and Apples.

Money is not in systems in games, but they are the hardest to acquire bait, I want to get just enough profit out of them to cover their shipping really.
The real money is like compu said... accessories, but also used games and a few other things.
Frax, I'm simply trying to see if it's viable for me, but this one key point of information is gone.
No matter what I need to have even just a bit of profit in each sale so that I stay in black as much as possible.

Just a thought--what about Ebay and those sorts of places? I'm not sure what kind of "bulk" numbers you are talking about, but you might find some quantities of titles and/or systems there...

I'll give you a hint. Pick a company. game or system. Call them (most have webpages with their direct phone numbers) Ask for sales. Then tell them, you are new software/hardware company (give them you're company name) Ask which companies distributor their products.
I'll give you another hint. There are only 4 major players. And no one will direct to you, unless you have money like walmart.

Ya, I kinda guess that.
Couple more hints..... yes I know you aren't canadian...... but
Founded in 1982, Beamscope is a leading distributor of video and electronic equipment for such manufacturers as Sony, Nintendo, Sega and Bell ExpressVu. It supplies inventory to over 7000 retailers across Canada. It also partcipates in the South American market in partnership with Unisel Holdings.
In August 2000 it sold its money-losing computer hardware and software division to Ingram Micro for $20 million. This was followed up with the sale of its video game software division to Minnesota-based Navarre Inc. leaving the company to focus on entertainment hardware and satellite television systems.

fyi , ingram who probly is still largest software distro in world, is also most overpriced. Try to find other 3 companies

Well the Jack of All Games might want me to be a bit bigger than I am, but I could be wrong... hard to tell.
Found another place that has an office only a few blocks down the road from me (go figure).
