So, is that true? I saw it mentioned on one of these forums, might be this one, but that sounded just weird to me. The game still has a lots of fixes and a lot of content from the official movies and EU missing form it, why would they close the door on expansions?

AFAIK, they didn't close it, at least not for good. They just said there will be no more released this year, look fro a new one in Q3 or Q4 of the next. Besides, when a company announces "no expansions any more, at least not every other month", that's usually a good thing because they're saying they'll release bug fixes without disguising them as content expansions.

I think SWG production has slowed but it's not at a halt yet. Basically there subscriptions are at an all time low. The engine is dated. The combat is dated. The story arcs & missions are dated. Basically what I'm being told is that new hires that are going to be working on the "soon to be released games" are first used on SWG to train them.
It's sad.

These guys are sad, the easiest way to get ALOT of subscribers back would be to just go back Pre NGE or Pre CU and admit a mistake was made, make the game challenging again and give the peeps that actually spend and invest time in the game what they want. But SOE has an Ego the size of Mustafar and they will NEVER admit wrong doing and so an expansion won't come because on alot of posts in the official forums they have said no already to another expansion, but let's face it, they have not done anything but destroy what they have now, how could they possibly pretend to start something completely new and have the fans have the confidnece or patience that they will fix the othere issues?
