So i got doom III tonight, it was running ok but whenever i pressed "2" to pull up a weapon it instantly shut down. So being the good boy i am, the first thing i did was download the latest patch for my 9800 pro (128meg). Welp after i did this all hell has broken loose. None of my games see the video card however windows and casandra (system spec program) see it just fine. Also no problems in windows drivers area.

I've tried going back to the old drivers from the CD that it came with, i've tried compleatly uninstalling the drivers and letting windows auto detect see the new device and choose the driver. I'm running out of ideas. I've also noticed that after i installed the newest driver that my refresh on windows and popup menu's is a hell of alot slower.

Anyone got any ideas?

its kinda hard to operator error on drivers... download it and agree to the licence agreement, thas all there is to updeating drivers.... But in either case old drivers work now, and i'm half way though doom and shaking.

wrong. download new drivers, uninstall every old driver, reboot, install new drivers, reboot again.

if you don't uninstall first you can f**k up your drivers
