I voted I don't know, because I haven't had any successful trades since it was implemented. Like.. I lost a couple points cuz a few people wanted to be arses and do buyouts of all the WTS accounts for WoW a while back. That was nice. But for whatever reason I had like 1300 credits built up. I haven't done anything or been a member long. It's just kinda confusing. |
Well, I understand what you think. The crediting system is still not active, so it's not relevant at this moment.
Regarding the sale, well I see a lot of sales, but it's still not more then 5% closed sales with SOLD status. Many members do not finish their trades, they sell items and never get back to close the trade. Of course, there's a lot of un-mature members trying to scam, but we do our best to stop them and punish them.
If you have a good items and good price, I think you'll find a buyer very fast. Otherwise, if you have not attractive or middle-class account/item characteristics, it will be much harder to sell. It's like in real life.
I suggest all traders to give more credibility to their trades which will help them to gain more confidence. For example you can state in your trade that you are willing to exchange private information such as your own ID or Driver License with the trader partner to put accent on security and importance of know-your-trading-partner policy. Of course, I don't recommend posting your private information directly in your posts, but traders can exchange that info via PM or IM communication. Exchanging phone numbers or meeting live is one more solution to assure a safe transaction. For larger amounts you can insist to sign a kind of basic trading agreement and ratify it by government or advocacy institution.
There's a ton of symptoms which could indicate possible scam, but I think that RealPoor will attract more and more REAL traders, and number of scam attempts will reduce rapidly, mainly with help of this credit system and user reputation.
However, we are open for any helpful suggestions which could improve this system even more and reduce potential fraud.
