One snapping turtle, 2 crabs, numerous shrimp, 2 neons, and a breeding trio of mosquito fish who are about to pop. The water is much clearer than in the picture. The yellow tinge is all the iron wood in the water. I didn't bother with bleeching them, just put them in the water. The levels are perfect, water is clean, plants are growing like crazy. Its just gonna take a few months for the carbon to remove the leeching pigments from the wood. I could care less about the wood stain in the water, it looks natural and it is a turtle tank after all. Any fish in there are food items for the big guy and the fresh water bugs.

Turkistan , disco, duba and death head roaches. No smell, no flies, crazy fast breeders, no glass climbing, no flying, no chirping. All in seperate tubs. Big and meaty tough and hardy. Excellent feeders for anything that needs animal protein.

I have 4 shelf set ups like that, all with plastic tubs and 5 gallon tanks. Each shelf set up has 5 lvs, all with a 4 foot neon light suspended above.

The winged one is an adult male, the white one is a fresh molt. It will turn brown and harden up in a few hrs. The molts, the empty skin will be eaten as a sorce of calcium. They don't last long, the empty molts, the brown stuff is ground up cat food, the little dark brown lumps are roach poop. You sweep that up every so often.
