Since Microsoft puts out a new OS about every 2 years and XP has been out for over a year now, is there a new Windows OS coming out this year?

I heard Microsoft is making an OS strictly for gaming, and that it will run games something like 25% faster

Well its not gaming ONLY, but its designed specifically for games..

Unix will be the OS to take over in the future.
Open source, free, starting to support games (Doom3). What else do you want?
Everything is now compatable AND free AND infinate user support from the community.
Free office. (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Free picture editing. (Photoshop)
Browsers that update to security holes at the speed of light.
Cusomizable user interfaces to mimic whatever you are used to (Mac, Windows, Dos, Commodor 64, WHATEVER).
If you want you can run your system just like the old days from a text prompt.
It's comeing fast and it's going to kick Bill Gates right in the Jimmy.
If you have an old system I would suggest getting red hat and seeingn what it's all about. You could dule boot any current system but that might confuse you unless you see what is up from the get go.
