Posted: 12/16/04 - 16:20 Post subject: New Hard Drive partition question...
Just got a new 200GB hard drive...going to partition it several times...what do I want the boot drive size to be for WinXP...then what typical drive sizes should I use for the other partitions.
Was thinking 20GB for the C: to allow for Excel, Photoshop, Windows, etc...
Then 6 partitions of about 30GB each or 9 at 20GB...
Any thoughts and or advice?

I got a Maxtor 200GB from newegg.com for $150. I had to replace a Western Digital 160GB that was "clicking" and "freezing", it was going south fast.

A partition that is slightly larger than the OS being installed. A little larger for any updates that may need the extra space.
