Hi. I just can’t believe what the programmers invented here. Adoption. Hehe, this game is forcing you to become a parent in some way? Well, what about those weird Neopets? Are they that much weak without the boss/player? And how’s that becoming in the game? Why are those pets abandoned? Is this normal when you login for the first time? You actually don’t create your avatar, but adopt some of them in the pet center? Thanks in advance for the info.

Greetings. It is like in every other game so far. Just create your avatar, choose a name, and then start taking care of your beloved one. You can have more of them. But as they grow, they are more and more demanding and emotional and everything else. Some players just can’t take care about all of their avatars, so they got abandoned. Then you can go to the Neopets Adoption Center and pick up some already defined Neopet. That’s it.
