My wife and me live in an apartment until we can afford a house. The people that moved in about three weeks ago next door to us are always blasting music. You can't hear what it is but you can fill the bass above the TV or movie you are watching. This happens at different times of the day and night.
For the past few weeks we have had to call the Local Patrol that is the security for the complex several times a week about them. Last week on Monday I believe we called when about 6 people came out of their apartment yelling and screaming about some crap. So I call the Local Patrol then I tried to watch TV. About 20 min later they get there and break it up.
Friday night we get home after a nice dinner and start to watch a movie and then the bass starts at 11:45pm. I call our local patrol people and they get there about 15 min later and tell them to turn the music down. They do then about an hour later I am woken up with the same dam THUD THUD THUD from the music next door. So I call again and they stop again. Then at 8am they start blasting again. With in a few minutes we both had a massive headache. We talk make a compliant to the Apartment Complex office and tell them the story for the past few weeks we have had to call the Local Patrol several times a week about the noise.
We go out for the day and then come back late at night and they again start to blast the music at 1:30am we call Local Patrol they stop we are finaly able to go to sleep. We wake up around 10 am (Sunday you get to sleep in a bit, Right?) then about an hour later while I am drinking my coffee and eating my beagle the dam base starts pumping though the walls. I look at the coffee cup on the table and se the surface of the coffee ripple from the sound. See a problem yet?
I have read my lease about noise and other things that cause me grief and confronted the Complex Office about them and wonder what I should do next. They just tell me they will look into it but I feel like they are just telling me to shut up and take it. My wife and me both work full time jobs all week and deserve a little peace in the evenings and on the weekend.
What should I do Any advice would be helpful

this is easy
Find out what music they hate.
And blast it up.
Or threaten there lives with an anonymous note.

I would imagine if your apartment complex does nothing about this it's grounds for breaking your lease. Of course then you have to move. Threatening to leave might motivate your apt complex to get off their ass though. Also try talking to some of your other neighbors and see if the music bugs them as well.
I had some neighbors like this in my apt in college. It was right in the middle of my senior project when I was very stressed and short of sleep so it really drove me crazy. The thing was, it wasn't that loud, I went over to their apt a couple times to ask them to turn it down, and it was already very low, but that thud, thud, thud goes right through walls even if it's not loud.
Attention rap/r&b lovers. If you have a stereo with a subwoofer be aware that your neighbors *always* hear your stereo, and that you are an a*****e if you play it at night.
If you're going to be moving, I suggest putting all of your speakers up against their wall, putting Achy Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus on loop, and going out of town for the weekend shortly before you move out. If that doesn't work, try firing through your wall with a high-powered rifle in the area where their stereo sits. When the cops come, say "It went off while I was cleaning it".

I would ask them once nicely to stop and if it continued i'd take it into my own hands. I know its not the perfect answer, but when the authorities fail to do their job you have to take things into your own hands. I mean they have no respect for you or your wife obviously. If they look like a rough crowd ask some of the sourrounding neighbors to help.

Best advice?
Move away.
Then, toss rocks in their windows, and f**k their cars up.
Do the last part for as long as they live there. Every month or so.
Its all about getting even.
Revenge is such a great word, the british named a whole class of Battleship after it.

If it were me, I'd ask the apartment complex for a larger apartment away from these noisy neighbors, without a rent increase...or...they move the noisy neighbors...their choice.
Also, start keeping a log of when you have called the Patrol or complained to the Apartment Complex Manager. Later on if you have to hire a lawyer, they love these little incident logs.

You live in an apartment complex. Seriously what do you expect. Your only legitimate complaint is with the music late at night, other than that it's pretty lame to expect them to never be able to listen to music. Most apartments are cheap, poorly made boxes and any kind of sound travels like crazy. The right thing to do would to be approach them when the problem first started, explain the situation, then ask them to keep it down at night. Then if they are still p****s about it, call the cops and say s***w em. Although they kind of sound like a******s, it's possible that they just don't realize how the sound carries in the complex.
I live in a college apartment complex and our walls are paper thin. We had cool neighbors for half the year and then over Christmad break this mexican family moves in below us and right off the bat we get the cops called on us 4 times in a week. No visit from the neighbors asking us to please turn it down, no apartment complex security visit, just the f*****g local cops coming to my door. This would happen when i was playing my guitar at volume levels that even my roommate couldn't really hear inside the apartment. One time the cops showed up it was at 2 pm on a damn friday afternoon and my music was barely audible outside my door. The bass just seems to travel like nothing else. Of course when these cocksuckers blare their tejano/polka music at 2 am on the weekend I say nothing because I think it's reasonable to put up with that stuff occasionally when you make the decision to live in a low income housing situation.
It sounds like you need to do some compromising. You can't be a reasonable person and expect it to be quiet all the time but they all shouldn't be blasting the bass at 2 in the morning. The pot and 40 comment was cute by the way. You are so much better than them!

Roll some ecstasy, you won't mind the bass.
My sister just moved into a new apartment and got awfully lucky, she hasn't complained about a single thing. No such luck with me.
In my last apartment, my neighbors above me bought a basketball backboard for their little rugrat. Great idea, morons, it sounded like a herd of elephants were living upstairs all evening, every evening. Also, the smell of everyone's cooking in the building was atrocious. We're talking some seriously raunchy curry-like shit.

Dude. Are you Mexican? I think Clevinger might be your neighbor.
I'm lucky in my current place. I've been living here 5 years and never had a really bad neighbor. I had one that was mildly annoying, playing music and such, but he got evicted for it because the neighbors complained. I never even thought it was worth calling them myself. Personally I don't own a stereo because I think playing one in an apartment complex is rude. I listen to music on my computer and if I want to crank it up I go for a drive and listen to it in the car.

Why don't you stop being a f*****g p***y and talk to the people yourself? I hate p****s like you who just call the cops or the office instead of being a man and knocking on my door and asking me to turn it down. I'd keep doing it just to p**s your p***y ass off if I were them.

maybe he doesn't want to be beaten to death with your gigantic d**k, xion. it's kind of obvious that after so many visits from the complex patrol or whatever, the people playing the music don't care.

if your complex has rules and regulations find out what they say about this. Check what the law is in your area in regards to tenant rights, your state bar association web page is a good start. keep a record when you call community patrol to deal with this guy, make sure you keep date/time and who you spoke to. take this to the management company and demand that they deal with the guy by either having someone check on him frequently or evict his ass. if they ignore you start looking for a place, break your lease and sue for breach of contract. you have rights under the law, learn what they are and act on them.

I'd get together with other neighbors who must also be bothered, sign a petition and force them to kick them out.

Find out a local bar/club they visit. Beforehand, find a nice sized wrench and a piece of rope about the size of your wrist with a bit hanging off.
Tie off the wrench around your wrist so it won't be getting away from you, and it will stay up in your coat sleeve.
Have someone else go in before you about 30 minutes earlier to make sure they are there. Have him call you on a cell phone and confirm it. Go in with the wrench up in your jacket sleeve and talk to the guy. Try a bit of sweet talking to see if you can work the problem out, if not try something else.
Drop that wrench out and just start wailing the shit out of that m**********r. I want you to beat him so f*****g hard blood sprays from his face. If this piece of shit sounds like some worthless scum the cops probably don't like him. He's most likely been to court a few times. Just wail until he's laying there blood dripping down his face.... At the most you'll pay around 2,000 dollars if you don't do too much damage. Just remember moderation with the blunt force of the wrench. You don't want to break much, just f**k up his face pretty badly.
(lollolol I love the stories my daddy tells me about being a union-worker)

My wife and I live in a nice apartment complex with annoying neighbors like yours. Don't do anything violent. That only escalates things. Ask them to keep it down. Tell them that you don't mind the music, but it's out of hand at 2 in the morning. Complain to the Apartment complex if speaking to them doesn't work. If that doesn't work, which it didn't in my case, complain higher up. If that doesn't work and it bothers you enough, move out. No one has to know that you were the ones that gave in first. People are going to be a******s no matter what the situation. Xion is case and point.
Luckily for me that w***e next door and her 2 f*****g roaches for kids are moving in June and I won't have to bury them in the Rose Garden.

Many times people simply don't realise how loud they're being, especially if they've been drinking. Just ask them to turn it down before you do anything, that's all I'm saying.
I'm in college, and I hate nothing more than a neighbor that calls the cops on your party instead of simply asking you to be quiet first.

My husband once told me a story about a guy he was stationed with in Germany while he was in the army. Seems this guy was one of those young guys who spent is paycheck on sterio equipment. He also was of the habit of playing his music durring all hours of the night... so loud it would keep the entire building up. My husband had the privlege of getting the room next to his. Now apparently this guy knew what he was doing and laugh about it frequently. He was known for such tricks and going away for the weekend but leaving it on full blast (to the point the guys in the barracks broke into the power box and shut down power to the floor so they could get some sleep. The MP's had been called so many times that they simply just didnt show up anymore. Well after about 2 weeks worth my husband calmly waited for him to leave one weekend. Had the supply clerk give him a key to the room entered in with a tankers bar? (apparently a very heavy metal rod used to remove track from tracked vehicles) and smashed the ever living crap out of ever peice of stero equipment he could find. Accordingly the mp's did an investigation but everyone that lived in the barracks stated that they had not seen or heard a thing and well... the mps left it at that.
The end of this story is that about a month later he had another large stero system in place and blasted it all day long. Later that day when he returned from dinner he found a tankers bar proped up against his door... they never had a single problem from him again.

If you saw them smoking weed and whatnot, you shoulda just called the cops to come raid their place nextime they were partying, being in jail on drug charges would certantly hamper their ability to blare music at you
