Ok, so I have Adobe Illustrator CS, and apparently I can change ppi settings to 300, which is necessary to print large documents. But Im not exactly sure what I'm doing..

I want to print an 18x24" poster at kinkos, but I need a high quality file format so it wont look shittastically pixelated. I got the image from a website at 1024x768 Reso, with a 72ppi (or dpi?) ...I was told to rasterize the image at 300ppi, but is that all I need to do? It seems too easy..

Ive been reading about vector graphics, but its all new to me...reading the manual is taking forever. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with this and could point me in the right direction.

Damn..ok so you guys suck balls. Ive found that if I convert the image to SVG format (Scaleable Vector Graphics) that the image will retain its quality even when resizing to an 18x24" template, but it still comes out somewhat pixelated, but I fixed that with a blur effect, which I was reluctant to do but it owns so much more than looking at jagged edges.

Is there anything else I can do besides say f**k it and print a pixeltastic image?
