When it comes to pc's, sorry...
Anyways it's more networking issues, got a 5 port ethernet switch hooked up to a pc and laptop. The pc logs onto the network and internet just fine, but the laptop doesn't work at all. Even though the little pc in the systray says Local Area Connection 100.0 Mbps. All I need is the laptop to get internet access, doesn't need to log onto the network.

Sounds like you're running XP on the laptop. So double click the little network icon in systray and it should list your IP address if not, click on the properties button (sorry don't run windows so its hard to remember), compare this to the IP of the desktop machine that is working. Is anything different? Are you running a cable modem or DSL? Does your ISP hand out DHCP IP's or are they statically assigned? Does your ISP allow multiple connections from the same MAC address of the broadband device (cable modem or dsl router) ? Lets start there and see what we can do to fix it
