|
WEEK 13 RESULTS:
| Quote: | • Tampa Bay 10, New Orleans 3
CB Ronde Barber nabs three INTs, the last of which ends Saints' potential game-tying drive.
• Indianapolis 35, Tennessee 3
Colts held to just 292 yards, but Dwight Freeney (two sacks) & Co. keep Titans off-balance all day.
• Carolina 24, Atlanta 6
Panthers' defense finally makes Michael Vick look human: 36 rushing yards, two INTs.
• Minnesota 21, Detroit 16
QB Johnson in sync with Robinsons: Last week: Marcus (3 TDs). This week: Koren (148 yards, TD).
• Jacksonville 20, Cleveland 14
David Garrard rallies Jags with two second-half TDs in tune-up for next week's Indy showdown.
• Cincinnati 38, Pittsburgh 31
Bengals build two-game division lead and prove they can play with the big boys and beat them.
• Chicago 19, Green Bay 7
Every week, it seems either Charles Tillman or Nathan Vasher has a big INT. Today, both did.
• NY Giants 17, Dallas 10
DEs Strahan and Umenyiora give credence to "best tandem" talk, combining for three sacks.
• Miami 24, Buffalo 23
Chambers (15 rec., 238 yards, game-winning TD) overshadows Evans' three-TD first quarter.
• Baltimore 16, Houston 15
Matt Stover's game-winning FG didn't beat the Texans. Settling for FGs from inside the 10 did.
• Arizona 17, San Francisco 10
Kurt Warner's reward for his fifth 300-yard passing game of the season: His first win as a Cardinal.
• Washington 24, St. Louis 9
After rallying Rams vs. Texans last week, Harvard rookie Fitzpatrick saw what a real D looks like.
• New England 16, N.Y. Jets 3
The Patriots certainly love having RBs Corey Dillon and Kevin Faulk back (26 carries, 100 yards, TD).
• Kansas City 31, Denver 27
Chiefs pressure Plummer into two INTs, and Larry Johnson (140 yards) rumbles for two TDs.
• San Diego 34, Oakland 10
Chargers' average margin of victory in eight wins: 17.5 points. Average margin in four losses: 3. |
Seahawks & Eagles play tonight @ 9. Eagles wont have mcnabb, so I think the game is already pretty much over.
Next week pathers play tampa bay I think. I can fairly wage that carolina will put down TB.
Colts play Jacksonville in Florida next week. That should actually be a GG. I think if anyone is going to stop them from going 16-0 this will be the game.

actually being a seahawk fan i'm pretty scared tonight, eagles are looking better and better every week... they are now working as a team, even their young QB is playing like a starter.... watch, it will be a close game.

The worst is when you try to combine the 2 elements.
A perfect example is the conversation my professor and I had last week:
Me: Hey, how was your weekend Mr. Byrnes?
Him: It was fine, my son came home from Denver on friday and we went out to lunch, before he headed back to UNC (university of north carolina) on sunday evening.
Me: Oh cool, did you guys end up watching the games? Carolina won and so did Carolina! lol
Him: I don't care for football.
Me: Oh, thats cool. At least we know our UNC basketball is back and strong. We beat Kentucky the other day, and they're ranked 10!
Him: I don't watch sports...
Me: Oh...well, uh...nm then
Him: ...

Panthers defense looked pretty damn good this weekend. Almost makes up for the beating we got from Chicago. Going to be a good game next week, just hope our offense starts playing a bit better.

Jax is going to stop anyone, much less the Colts. If the Colts lose, it will be in like week 15 or so when they rest their starters, against the Chargers perhaps.

They aren't going to rest their starters with the undefeated regular season on the line.

I still think the jags are the only ones with a shot at the colts right now.
In other news...holy crap the eagles just got raped...I haven't seen a shutout like that in a long time. Those 2 QB's they brought in were playing at high school level.

I just don't think the NFC stacks up with the AFC this year. Whoever represents the NFC in the Super Bowl is going to get blown out.

I can't see NE, Pittsburgh, or Jax blowing anybody out if they make it to the Superbowl. And teams like TB, Seattle, Chicago, and Carolina have been great defensively. I'm not sure I buy the blowout talk unless Indy finds itself up against a chump wildcard team like Minnesota or Washington.

Lol, there is not going to be a blowout by the AFC this year. The only "great" team in the AFC are the Colts, other than that the other good teams are no better than the NFC.
If the Colts make it to the superbowl this year then I hope they win (unless playing Carolina) but it is not guaranteed that they will.

Well, a Chicago blowout would be 20-3.

chicago and seattle's defense both stack up and will give the colts a fair shot, they only problem they might face is their offenses not pulling their weight.

Raiders couldn't beat the Jets, they aren't going to beat cleveland either, thus doing nothing to improve their chances of drafting Reggie Bush since there are teams that, surprisingly, suck more than the Raiders do this year.
edit: their there they're

They effectively took the Jets out of the Reggie Bush lottery this week, so San Fran owes them a favor :p. Of course I'm afraid it would take a miracle for even the 49ers to lose to the Texans at home on the last week of the season.

I'm not a big fan of the Reggie Bush saga.
The Raiders need a f*****g quarterback (Marcus Vick someday?).
The Niners need to improve their offensive line, get a playmaker on defense and a WR.
Houston needs to drastically improve their O-line, and I think it's time for a new QB as well.
Green Bay is hopeless.
The Jets need Reggie Bush.

Not as far-fetched as you think! Bad weather + Northwest + Good D = 15-1 Colts.
