K, long story short i was f****n around and fried my mobo in my second game computer. I decide just move hdd into other pc to save having to go buy shit, and I do, I sawp it right over. Reinstall windows, la la la go to install drivers etc, and my H drive is missing. I keep all install files, driver updates, basically anything i might tend to download if something happens, I keep it on H: and porn too. Anyways, I go into the handy dandy winxp hdd tool, and i see that the entire space where it used to be is now an unallocated bit of space inside an extended partition. K, i'm mad, but wtf can i do. I format the drive ntfs....ok quick format but none the less. Now, after i've made a new H drive out of the old one, and then started writing to it, made new Drivers and Install files folders, started putting shit inside them even, had like 4 diff drivers fodlers, some install shit etc. Now im booting up last night, it says i need to scan drive F: I let it scan, it runs for shit, 10 minutes messing with files...i was layin down so didnt pay attn. I go look today, not only is my H drive renamed to the old name I had it set as, but all the lost files and folders are back, including the old versions of the new folders I made with the same exact name. I have seen some wierd shit, but this one tops it =D

sounds like a file system thingy. you tried fdisking?

sounds like a file system thingy. you tried fdisking?

Exactly what I was thinking. Why didn't you fdisk? (delete partitions and create new ones)
