watched Collateral tonight. was good.
watched duplex too. was ok. not great by any means

Why don't they make scary movies anymore? A cat jumping at someone's face as the phone rings noisily and a monster slams through the back door isn't scary, it's loud.

i'll tell you what i'm sick of in horror movies nowadays. I hate that in practically every movie they put some creepy disturbed child in the movie. It's not scary, it's annoying. I'm not sure if White Noise had one, but it wouldn't surprise me. I swear to god, every horror movie trailer I see has some kid saying "He's coming for you." or something to that extent, in a very calm mannered voice.

Yes, it is lame. They took a good character (Cole from The Sixth Sense) and warped it into a plot device. There were creepy kids in movies before, but nothing to this extent.

I saw it last night. It wasn't bad but it wasn't exactly great either. Worth the money to see in the theatre if you go to a matinee. It was 100% better then that f*****g shithole Grudge got that movie was f*****g worthless. This one could have done better with plot points and maybe developed some of the themes better in my opinion but it wasn't incredibly s****y.
