DD is a good movie, down to $9.99 at Best Buy and definately worth every penny. You'll wanna see it more than twice.
"And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had..."

If you want to be technical the MOST original movie would be the first movie ever created since everything in it was new.

That isn't necessarily true. Books came long before movies and content/stories defines the originality, not just the cinematography.
The first ever "film" was just an animated film of a horse running. The first "film-movie" was about a train robbery. All of these things have been described in books long before they were put to film.

I think Police Academy 5 was the most original movie I've ever seen.

Donnie Darko was really good, but you haven't lived until you've seen Requiem for a Dream. If you want to be disturbed, scared shitless, and emotionally scarred, then it's the movie for you.
Brilliant work by Darren Aronofsky and Hurbert Shelby Jr.

Requiem for a Dream rules.
I also like City of Lost Children, that is where my vote goes.

oh man i loved that movie clev. i saw it in the theatres. whoo man.
yeah.
I like some that have been mentioned... Magnolia. fantastic film.
Usual suspects was excellent as well, and yes, kevin spacey is a god.
And Waking life, when it comes to originality, is definitely up there.
hmm, how about 2001?
Pulp Fiction?
um. I'm trying to think of older movies, but all that comes into my head is "Marty" Cause i just watched it last night, but that's not all that original. just a good flick.. heh.

I didnt care for Requiem for a Dream. It just seemed like it was trying to shock with no substance.
Trainspotting to me was much more substantial and much darker.

Although I would give the nod to Trainspotting, Requim for a dream was a very chilling movie as well.
Plus the soundtrack was amazing
