And all faulty or fraudulent registrations should be investigated, but the most common cases mentioned in the articles linked appear to be registration forms being submitted with made up names and addresses by workers trying to earn bonuses for signing up large numbers of voters. Since the registration cards won't be deliverable to a fake address, they will never be used to cast fraudulent votes.
What makes Voters Outreach of America's actions particularly reprehensible if the accusations against them are accurate is that they people who signed registrations forms with their workers and then had those forms discarded or shreded have every reason to think they already registered. By the time they learn that they were cheated, it may well be too late for them to register properly.

The only way to completely ensure with 100% certainty that you will be registered to vote is to do it yourself. It's not that f*****g hard.
Most states have a downloadable registration form available publicly on the internet, which is very easy to fill out and hand in to your local district center(when I registered it was at the local court complex and I'd imagine most are located in similar venues).
The whole process took me about 25 minutes, of which 15 minutes was spent driving to the place I needed to submit it. Very simple and efficient and I got my voter registration card within a few weeks.
And if you really want to register to vote using any of these "register to vote" groups, just make sure they're affiliated with your own party ;-)

Although I agree that registering in person is relatively simple, it can be confusing for a first time voter. The fact that people could have avoided problems by doing registering directly does not make what this company appears to be doing any less despicable and illegal.
It is also worth noting that the company has been reported operating these voter registration drives in at least three states that are expected to be close races and that hundreds or even thousands of voters may have been disenfranchised by their actions in Nevada. The appropriate remedy would be to publish what they have done as widely and prominently as possible in any area where they have operated and to extend the deadline for registering to vote so that anyone affected by this fraud can correct the situation.

You forgot to link a story regarding the Oregon voter scam where Democrats' registration cards are 'thrown away,' and then there's Nader's deletion from the Pennsylvania ballot because Republicans were signing his petiton with names like Fred Flintstone just to get numbers.
Oh wait... that would be going against your intentions.

The Oregon stuff happened after I posted. There is also a report about voter registration shredding in Nevada (I think it is the same guy with the Oregon stuff). You forgot to mention the Democrats forcing a court ruling in Florida to remove Nader from the ballot. There is also a court hearing in Pennsylvania regarding Nader not being on the absentee ballots.
The point is that there are widespread scams going on ranging from Nevada to Colorado to Arizona to Florida to New York. The FBI is investigating the
