Hahahaha! How do you guys like his 4 day a week broadcasts? God damn is he a tool. Not only are they giving him 500 MILLION in addition to 200 million in Sirius stock, but he won't work 5 days a week now. haha, I love it. I bet you can't wait for him to take all of his vacation time (supposidly 3 months of vacation per year) He's gonna be like a teacher!
Sirius sucks... O&A for life.

Stern's deal basically handed the satellite market to XM. Sirius won't be able to turn a profit now.
Meanwhile, XM just added 4 more stations (including a chill station yay!). I know which service I'd rather have.

A catch-all term for various styles of relatively mellow, slow-tempo music made by contemporary producers in the electronic music scene. It's nice to relax to.

the tools are the ones who pay money to listen to stern. He's not cool, he's not unique, he's not smart. He's just an ass monkey who takes your money.

actually, they did a poll some time ago that showed around 40-50% of his listeners are people who hate his guts and just listen to find something to b***h about heh.
Can't remember where i read it prolly maxim or something.
But in regards to the XM vs Sirius debate, i rather have XM's comedy channel which has tons of good comedians like brian regan, lewis black, mitch fatel etc vs 1 howard stern

is this for real?
The 500 million was not just for him. It was to pay for all the programming, and everybody who appeared on his channels for 5 years. The 200 million was a bonus for them reaching a certain subscriber #.
Not worth the money? They have added more than 2 million subscribers since he joined on, and growing.
XM gave 55 million to Oprah for a channel on which SHE will contribute roughly 30 mins of content per day. The rest will be the stupid people from her TV show. Thats a waste of money they will never get back
4 days a week of shows? so what. The fifth day is playing content from the past 20 years as it was meant to be heard. Alot of people are interested in that.

Ummm... no. If your dentist plays Orb, I'm there. But they don't.
Every dentist office I've been to plays soft rock. I think I've heard 'I Want to Know What Love Is' every time I've ever gone.

Is chill supposed to be rare? Sirius has had at least 2 since I can remember. I only listen to one right now, because it always seems to play good stuff.

are you saying lewis black the those others have their own shows or specials? or that they just play there bit?
personally i wouldnt pay for either,
i don;t like howard (the show) but he can be funny, i like him when he is
on like letterman or other talk show tho.
i download Jim Breuer's Sirius show which can be funny at times
i dont find o&a funny, some of their guess are good, like jim norton and lewis etc

yeah when you factor in that he takes about 1/2 as much commercial time as he did previously.

but when you factor in his 3 months of vacation per year as well as now having only 4 days per week... it might drop down to the same if not worse.
O&A are still much better, IMHO. I just can't get enough.

Not rare, but it's a small niche. It was actually the only genre Sirius devoted it's own channel to that XM didn't. Finally they expanded their chill show from another electronica station to it's own channel. XM has always had a station called The Move, which plays alot of similar music, but they sometimes play some weird stuff that even I can't get into. XM Chill is awesome, though.
The electronica stations are among the most popular on both XM and Sirius, probably because you have to go satellite to even hear it on the radio (you can't even hear techno in Detroit, it's damn birthplace). FM ought to wisen up and start offering better programming, 'cause really there's no reason to listen to it anymore.

O&A were frequently funny, Stern rarely so, but to be enough of a fanboi to start this thread speaks of massive gayness.

No specials, they just have a non stop comedy channel that plays bits from 100's of comedians.
