Ok, to be honest I'm kind of behind on some class work, and I cant really come up with any solid Pro's or Con's to Human Cloning and need some help.
We're talking ethics here.... tell me what you think.

i took a class where we actually went over the pro's and cons
here you go: cons: individual dignity of humanity is taken away (ie boy looking like dad, but not being the same person)
designer babies (gattaca is a good example of its problems)
mass viruses more probable since large amounts of the same people would have the same genetic defenses against viruses.
failures from testing resulting in death of "guinea pig" clones
freedom of natural birth, and rondomness of genetics is stripped
mental and physical confusion could occur in the clone.
one more con, it took hundreds of tests before "dolly" the sheep could be sucessfully cloned, and even now some defects are rising up in dolly the clone.
against law/"gods will" according to the papacy.
pros:
huge working masses of people could help end world hunger. (star wars; clones trained to be soldiers)
people can create another pet/loved animal.(keep in mind it would not be the same)
people could decide who their child will actually be.
*con/****, would possibly no longer be necessary. (not likely to happen)
*dependant on your perspective

I think Booker's point is the biggest con in respects to cloning. That is if you are intending to grow the clones to maturity.

Ther'es a big new con with the pre-mature death of Dolly this weak.
Her cells were "old" when she was born, so she only had the time left on her donor's life when she was born.
Her mother was 6 when her cell was cloned, sheep average a life span of 12 years, dolly died at age 6.
Just imagine a 70 year old man being cloned.
Kid lives to 5 or 6?
Not very effective or even remotely moral.

A clone would never be an exact copy of the original person it came from. Your have to ask your self the questions: Would my clone be Good? Would my clone be Evil? Would my clone be every thing that I am or would it be every thing that I am not?
A clone would never be the same person as me. It would never have the same life experiences to make it what I am today. While I may not the Model person in every ones eyes, I have lived a life with many experiences both good, bad and nutural to make me the person that i am today. I am Proud of the person I am (most of the time  ) But would I ever be proud of my Clone? Or would my clone seek to distroy every thing that I have worked for and stabe me in my back and still my life.
Yes I believe in cloning, but to what extent I don't know. All good thing turn evil with the abuse of power.
