M$? Negative - they arent even having HD-DVD games. They stated that the HD-DVD add on is for movies only.

xbox360 is limited to normal DVD games. The PS3 will probably have Blu-Ray games - after all it's standard in their console.
According to a MS comment at CES, they won't release a HD-DVD edition of the xbox360 but sell the players as an add-on. Price range estimated to be around $300
In other news, Blu-Ray players will go for $1,000 each and Sony expects to take a $2bn loss on the PS3 in the first year. Yay companies selling stuff below what it costs them to make, means we get an awesome system extremly cheap.
I got my HDTV Plasma with HDMI connection ready... Sony: BRING IT ON

I'm not a fanboy, I just know which is going to be the better system. The original Xbox garnered a lot of gamer 'cred' because it was the better system. Well, I'm glad it was, because it came out a long time after the PS2. That's like saying my computer pwns because it plays games better than a commodore 64. The worm will turn this time, Sony will have better technology, and better platformer titles as well. Keep in mind, this is the first time Microsoft will be openly challenged in an arena by a strong competitor. Let's see how they react.
It doesn't take a fanboy to realize M$ is in a bad position here.

how is MS in a bad position when they're the only one that has a new console out atm, every bit of news is basically saying the PS3 is never going to make a spring release and is more then likely going to see a summer/fall japan release and most likely a winter 2006 or early 2007 release in northamerica.
Just about every news article from developers like John Carmack states that tho the ps3 is slightly more powerful the 360 is substantially easier to work on so the effective use of that power won't be seen on the ps3.
There IS NO PS3 to test atm at the latest CE they didn't even have a demo unit available yet, all they showed was the same prerendered videos from last years E3.
The cheapest estimates for the ps3 put it at 500 to 600 american..that blue ray drive won't be cheap.Time will show just how expensive it is..and if it is a winter2006 release you wanna put money that microsoft will lower there prices and make it even harder for consumers to pick a ps3.
Will the ps3 be a success i'm sure it will be
is microsoft in trouble with the 360..not hardly

That's when Blu-Ray is going to make its appearance. Consumers will then have the option to spend $1,000 on a player, or $600 on a player that also plays games, let's them chat online, allows video communication etc. That way they can attract people who don't even care all that much about games.
As for the cost - $600 isn't all that much. The Xbox 360 is $400? +$300 for the HD-DVD drive... that's with a 20gb harddrive, which is great if you can't buy a game download. Otherwise you can't fit 3 games on it.
Not sure if Sony still plans on offering that service, but if they do they'd need a 100gb harddrive at least. Those are cheap nowadays though.
I'm glad sony isn't going for the budget market - the ninendo revolution will cover that. For once, I'd want a console that actually delivers for at least 3-4 years. So why buy a console that doesn't even support 1020p?
In the end it all depends on what games the consoles have. If you're a Halo fan it doesn't matter how cool the PS3 is. Buy the console that has the games you want to play - or just get both :p
But from a tech point of view it's no question that the PS3 is superior. It's the only console supporting 1020p, which is already available today. So you buy an xbox360, a $300 HD-DVD player and in 2 years get a new TV that supports 1020p. Ooops - now you need a new HD-DVD player that can actually play 1020p to get the most out of your TV.

Sony always claims they will have a bunch of stuff, but still wont 100% commit to a Blu-Ray DVD player being in the console. Only time will tell.
I will be waiting for the new line of HDTV tvs to come out that support 1080p input through HDMI in the tech that I like. This has been debated a ton there and no one can find a 100% commitment on it.

Blu ray is kinda pointless in a console these days. The only video game that even used dual layer DVDs that i can recall right now was GT4. Most games dont need 50gigs of space, or what ever blu-ray touts. While im not a fan of eather system right now I dont think the ps3 has this edge that everyone thinks it does. The 360 is selling and the ps3 is not, for now thats all that really matters.
