Just to see if any of you guys had the same problem
Me my brother and dad bought about the same computer, from a few months of distance and the same kind of monitor.
my dad's monitor ater 25 months went good bye...no reason, no warning. just good bye.
My brother''s monitor went bye bye at 21 months.
Mine today, 22 months.
Strange? I think not not, so its true that electronical equipment can have a kind of clock that burn them after a delayed time? Like 2 years max?
If so that a f*****g s***w up.
Also,
We all bought a PS2 way back,
Me dad's one CANNOT play ANY new game at all no matter what, and all his old games works fine, another huge s***w up by Sony.
So my dad ask me to try Zelda, on mine....it doesnt work, I tried to rent any new RPG....same...
Me and my dad have the same version of PS2,
And my brother's old one cannot play them either at all by his ne wone yes.
A big f**k you to Sony to try to hide this, when in fact the old PS 2 CANNOT be used to play recent games.

It has been said that the first PS2's released in the US will not play the new games something to do with the laser i have been told.
i have a gamecube
small
light
dependable
quiet!
as for the monitors HAHA sue them!

All I can say is that Logitech customer service blows ass.
But hey, after sending 4 s****y broken refurb 17 inchers, they made a shipping mistake and sent a new 21 inch, called a couple weeks later and asked for it back, said sure, once we get a *new* 17 inch like we PAID FOR.
The 5th broken refurb 17 inch arrived 3 days later, and with return postage for only a 17 inch (the 21 inch would cost about $40 more to ship).
I like using a 21 inch monitor, it's lasted about 23 months now.

Of course...I can always yell at Sony and call them but..hehehe just to send the PS 2 to the US for the repairs wil lcost about as much as a new one.
oh well
it just suck that they did this, I really thought that Sony was a nice company.

No, somehow Sony's 'quality' got championed in the electronics industry although the only advantages their products have are all percieved. Same story for Honda, Toyata, etc.

Sony is shit.
They used to be a quality electronics company, but in the past 10 years they've successfully ruined that reputation with endless quantities of bad products.
Monitors are strange, some last *forever* and others don't last much more than their warranty period.
I've found NEC to make the best monitors, I own 2 17s and one 21. Both of my 17s and the 21 are over 5 years old and they work great. I've owned 2 Gateway (Sony trinitron tube) monitors, one 15, one 17, and they both died about 3-4 years after manufacture.
In general, electronics aren't made as well as they used to be. It's arguable that cost is one reason (17 in montors are way cheaper nowadays than they used to be) but i think that companies don't place any value on quality anymore. My father has a few monitors from 15 years ago that still work, but I'd never bet on any of my newer stuff making it that long.

The only monitor I have ever had die was a 17inch LG that I left infront of a fan heater. The back melted. I let it cool, power cord fused to case. I then powered it up and it worked. It lasted a good 5 to 6 months after that then 1 day stopped working.

Refurbished monitors...don't buy them. I have had horrible luck with them also.

i've had a trinitron monitor for around 4 - 5 years now. got it with my micron p2 450 when i bought that. i've never had any problems with it. excellent monitor.

I have had the same KDS for a few years already... at least 3... it's nice too - 21 inches... never really had a problem with it (except for the power button getting stuck)

This is true, but used monitors are the best deal around.
All of my monitors were purchased used from computer trade shows. I only paid $150 for the 21 inch NEC i have now (bought it like 8 months ago), it's already over 5 years old, but it works perfectly. Most of these monitors come from offices upgrading, and they don't get abused too badly. You can tell by examining them when they are in good condition, they won't have any burn-in from a lack of screen saver.

i have a 2 and a half year old GEM 17" monitor it works good and all but now i use a 15" that came with my last comp becouse it looks cool and it matches!
