The rule is not smart. If its for our accounts *SAFETY* why would we talk about our characters online to more than one person when a email or aim is to one person. And what if we were about to trade how would we be able to talk to the person about account info? reply please

Wrong forum
We cannot verify a scam with your aim service or your MSN service or,franly, your email.
We can with our PM service and clean house a bit faster and offer a more secure environment to trade in.
I think it is very smart
People are less inclined to steal if Big brother is watching
While email addresses are needed for paypal, i do not see where there is a problem. Unless you think a Realpoor staff member would rifle your PMs for your account |

| Ok but how can we know to trust you? And even if you do get your account stolen what can you do about it? |

I understand the reasons for the safety measure but somehow I am inclined to agree with Wasfica.
if everything goes through insite PMs that means everyone with a little access can look at that information and possibly be the one to steal the account instead of the other player. What guarantees do we have? (btw this is just a question not accusation hehe)
Also it is true, what can you do in case of a scam? Report to blizz? they dun care and all they will do is ban it haha |

But.. I use my screen name for my paypal account password! It's a horribly easy to crack password and all someone would need is my email addre... wait, no, what am I saying, that would be ridiculous!
Yes, if someone on the staff were bored enough, they could find out your paypal address. Most people used to post those in the topic though, so, what's the problem? You've effectively reduce the possible number of people who can see your paypal address from infinite down to two. A good trade off, in my opinion. And I think I can safely assume you're not sending your paypal address to the person who's going to be sending you money.. right?
As for why you should use the PM system, I assume that comes down to accountability. If some scammer does something unheard of, like, creating another account, you'd never know. However, the people behind the scenes, with access to things like IP addresses and such, they might.
I tend to agree that the changes are for the better. Making trades before, in unsafe ways, was a nerve wracking experience. Now, that I'm using the site and the recommended trading practices, I feel safer. I haven't been able to sell an account I was looking to sell, but I think I did manage to ward off two or three would be scammers. |
