Following recent rumors, it seems that Microsoft is going to buyout SEGA Sammy. Buyout however would be logical move.
SEGA has a load of quality titles that could bring the base of loyal fans back, also they have possible software that could help Microsoft out and most of all they have respectable name SEGA.
Microsoft, however hasn’t officially commented on this rumor yet, but answer from the Bill and the boys should be expected soon.

RIP dreamcast - Wish they'd at least churned out a few more games.

Wow, this will be interesting to say the least. SEGA did make a right move in chosing not to make anymore consoles and to concentrate more on games, in my opinion. I think they are much better at doing that. Besides, seventh generation consoles are really tough to match.. especially considering SEGA haven't advanced further than the Dreamcast, which as far as I know was their last console.

Microsoft may have butchered some games beforehand, but with such atrocities as Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, churned and roasted in the pits of Sega's own Sonic Team, it's hard to think of Microsoft doing much damage that the company hasn't already dealt itself. Besides from the sonic games that've been released since the death of the Dreamcast, what else has Sega released?

The last few Sonic games have sucked. If this happens maybe Microsoft will be able to make another one as good as Sonic Adventure. We can only hope.
