We just got a computer from the college I work for..they were selling them off for 200.  It's an Optiplex GX260, P4 2Ghz, has this memory chip in it atm: DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 256, 266M, 32X64, 8K, 184.
I want to up that to at least 768, if not 1G.
I've been cruising Tiger Direct for memory and I sh it ho le confused. I looked at Dell's site first to get the exact spec on the module that is currently in the unit.
I don't understand about the different "speeds" on the chips. Right now, Tiger Direct has this for 9.99 (after rebates): EDIT: try this one:

Is that something I could use? Do I even want it? LOL If I don't want that, what do I want?
