I was at this ceremony and it was going ok until this lady started screaming from the press box. I was about 30 feet away from her when she started screaming. At the time i didnt know what she was screaming because she was screaming in chinese. Funny as hell to those of us working this ceremony. Long as f**k as well. It took 2-3 times longer to say in chinese what President Bush said in english. Made for a very long ceremony.
One plus, I was in the front row of the Air Force formation and President Hu was within 3 feet of me and President Bush within about 5 feet of me. Pretty cool to be able to say i stood that close to those two people.

Apparently the lady was screaming "President Hu, your days are numbered!" and "President Bush, stop him from killing!" She was a reporter from a Falun Gong magazine.

Am I the only one that thinks the way this was reported was hilarious? Check out the Washington Post story (that got picked up by the SF Chronicle)

This guy is a communist dictator in a country with one of the worst human rights records anywhere. Ordinarily liberal papers like the post and the chronicle would think it was great if somebody from a repressed group such as Falun Gong (or Tibet, or Taiiwan, or some other group being repressed by the chinese government, regular Chinese citizens for example) interrupted a speech like this, but the media is so focused on hating Bush, that they don't even mention WHY this lady was protesting, just what an outrage it was that the White House didn't see it coming and stop the lady from getting into the ceremony.
Personally I think it's pretty weak that he is even here, considering the way they are obstructing any kind of UN action vs. Iran, but I think it's hilarious that all that a liberal paper could find to report on when an authoritarian dictator comes to the US is what an outrage it was that George Bush didn't kiss his ass enough.
