On another note, last time my friend from California came to visit me (in the midwest), she was shocked and awed that white/black people worked in our Mc Donald's. She said only Mexicans work at Micky D's out there.

If you want to know my theory on this,
"very strong communication skills" = Can speak english
In the Midwest you can hire native english speaking people for $6 an hour. On the coasts mostly immigrants that can't do anything else get stuck with this job and you still have to pay them $9. Have all these calls going into a central computer system, and you will need a lot less people to work all of the drive-thrus than you do having someone at each store. It will probably improve drive-thru service AND save money. McDonalds knows what they're doing.

I get in a cab in KC Kan and say take me to the Waldorf (KC MO) you can bet the feker.
1) understands what im saying.
2) wont try and fek me by driving to Texas first.
Do the same shit in NYC and you will find yourself wanting the yank the feker out of the driver set so you can drive, or paying x3 what it should cost.
LA isnt must better, so dont think its just the Eastcoast.

This will be fine, barring 2 major problems:
1. some V.P. decides that they can pay a guy in North Dakota 6 bucks an hour to take drive-through orders, or they can pay a guy in Calcutta 2 dollars an hour to do the same thing. It will literally ruin the company.
2. I'm assuming that the orders will be sent via broadband from the order-taker to the order-maker. Now, most days that will be great, but every once in a while, the system will go down, and that McDonalds possibly won't have (from most likely to least likely):
A. Enough people to staff the store in a conventional manner
B. Enough equipment to actually process an order from start to end
C. Staff with enough training to actually do it the old-fashioned way

Cabs just about anywhere can be scary. I have been in cabs from NY, KC, Austin, Houston, Dallas, LA, and many other cities. You get a good one here and there, but for the most part they are all at least a little scary.
