Edit: I should rephrase this question.
What do you think would get me a decent "main tank" in less time:
1) Max out beastlord AA's for defense (he only has combat stability 3 right now :\ )
2) Level a warrior
I don't need to tank bosses or any of that crap. Just want a decent MT for an XP group. So far Ushiro seems to do great, even though his gear is all ornate and bazaar-bought.

ONE IS A s****y PALADIN.
THE OTHER IS A s****y WIZARD.
WELL.
NOT SO s****y. HE NEVER REQUIRES HEALING YET IS NEVER OUT OF MANA. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

I MT everything for my bot group which includes BOT nameds.... anything bigger than that you need a warrior. What is more important is gear:P

It's not ADD it's just trying to learn all the classes firsthand. Sure, it takes 4 years, but I gets em!

I often duo with a beastlord in tactics from my guild, and he handles the trash mobs just fine. Nothing named mind you, but I suppose with a cleric and a chanter/shaman anything is possible, for that style of play.

Get belt of magicot, other mage summoned stuff for your pet. Get it full raid buffs (even more when pet affinity is widespread).
Congrats you now have a 7+k HP tank with block, super high taunt, good dps, a breeze to keep healed.
Worried about your casters getting aggro? Screw that. Get 5 more pet classes and go to town.
Pet groups > all for xp groupage.

I can tank earth mobs fine, especially after I got my defensive AA's. Bst will be fine for most groups unless they hit 1k plus (even hard adventures arent so bad if you have good HP with there 960 + 990 hitters. Named hurt a little.). A BST would be fine to tank for you.

Neat!
I kinda figured the bst would be okay. It's easy to see the value in 65% slow and decent tankage. Two less bots to run since you have DPS, tankage and slowing covered in 1 package.
I blew some AA's on the Frenzy of Spirit, because I like having timers and all that.
