While defending a base that houses the most wanted criminals in US history it good to know the US will be shelling out big bucks to keep you safe behind a 1/2" of plywood.

Do you even know what that facility is Banz?

Way to ignorantly attempt to slam the military sir. You suck at the funny.

Please don't make me explain it to you as to why you made an ass of yourself.

Please explain why a man with a scoped rifle sitting behind plywood is not funny.

You were a lot more fun when you were a pot head instead of trying on the conservative pot head hat. =/

Come on, you have a weapon ready to punch a hole through an engine block and you are taking cover behind something that is in danger of being punctured by a bee bee gun?

Atk vs Def is a little skewed, don’t cha think?

Am I the only one who finds that amusing?

He will be doing all the shooting and no one will be shooting back. I think if they were really worried about taking return fire, they would spend the time to bag up some sand and make a nice position. Why do the extra work if its not necessary.

They aren't in irag or afghanistan.

I suppose but I found the contrast amusing.

And considering they were once thought to be part of the same machine that brought us the worst tragedy on our soil the image seemed less than awe inspiring.

The tension in Cuba must be a lot more lax than it used to be.

“I eat breakfast 300 yards from 4,000 cubans who are trained to kill me so don't think for one second that you can come down here, flash your badge and make me nervous.”

It does what it's supposed to do, protect them from rock throwers.

And judging by the gun held by the one soldier, I don't think anyone would be able to get close enough to do any harm.

What Kbarr said. Nobody will be shooting back.

And if you believe that shit from the movies, god damn, I've got some property to sell you!

That rifle is to plink the perps they got locked up there, and I'd wager he's a crack shot with it.

I bet he is too.

I just don't know if I'd be comfortable exchanging fire with an AK-47 in the Cuban landscape if I was sitting behind wood, but hey, that's just me.

The only point I was trying to make, and I guess no one else found it ironic, is that if you approach a situation with that kind of fire power your defense initiative should be at least somewhat equal to the force you exert.

I wasn't making a political statement, just found the picture to be kinda odd.

Kind of like a naked guy carrying a bazooka.

Oh, and I used the movie as a pop culture reference because I thought it had a higher recognizable factor than a obscure CNN article on how Cuba still has it in for the USA (which I could link if you like), but I wasn't trying to be ultra serious about it.

Election years tend to make flippant posts more political I guess.

You didn't find it amusing, I get it. I'm not asking for permission to bring up what tickels my fancy. Thanks.

There is probably land mines around that whole area, it is kind of amusing, but a turret isn't actually needed.

"Go go Achmed! shoot him!"

*Bang bang* *Plink Plink* *Bang* *Splortch*

theres might be tension in cuba but our soldiers dont exchange fire with the cubans. Communism has failed, Castro is dieing and within a few years cuba will be a democracy again.

oh ya and lauren i highly doubt theres any landmines they have been illegal for awhile due to their amazing ability to last far beyond the conflicts they are placed for and then blow up children.
